Attention  HOSA members:  a meeting is planned for Wednesday, May 23,  in room 129 at  2:20  P.M.    All are welcome.  Agenda:  elections for 2012-2013 officers, welcome to freshmen and farewell to seniors.  Refreshments will be served.

ATTENTION SENIORS:  On May 24th, Follett Bookstore will be here for the Buyback of your Religion Books.  If you rented a book, this is the day you must return your book.  Please check with your parents to verify if your book was rented or not.  All seniors are eligible to return their book and receive money for your book. ATTENTION SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS:  Summer vocabulary workbooks will be available for purchase starting on Monday, May 14th.  There is free shipping just for the week of May 14th.  These books can be purchased on the Follett Website, the same one that was used during the summer for your Fall workbooks.  There is a link on our website, www.archwood.org., on the opening page at the bottom left.  Please purchase these books this week to take advantage of the free shipping.  The books are $13.25 each. 

Any student who would like to buy a ticket to the Memory Lane Concert on May19th @ 7:00 pm may do so in the Activities Office. Tickets are $20. The concert will include a premier 10 piece Motown and Oldies Band with an Elvis, Temptations and the Beatles and a guest appearance by John Conklin, the “Blue Eyed Soul”.  It’s an interactive show with a real dance contest.  So get your Philly Rock & Soul ticket today!

Tuesday’s Announcements:

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

All wrestlers must bring in a note from their parents that they have permission to attend the Mr. Hill’s funeral and turn it in to the SSO.  The team will meet in the student center at end of second period on Wednesday May 16, and go over to Nativity and return to class sometime after 12 noon.  Wrestlers are asked to wear a shirt and tie and your school sweater to form an honor guard at the conclusion of the service like they did for Mr. Meister’s service.

 There will be a robotics team meeting tonight from 6pm to 8pm to prepare for next week’s competition.  All team members must attend.

A reminder that the last date to register for the June 9 SAT is this Friday, May 4.   After May 4 a penalty fee will be added.  Again, May 4 is the last day to register for the June SAT.  Archbishop Wood does not host the test in June.  Please check on line for a local school that will have the test.

For Career Day on Friday, May 4, and the 11:15 dismissal the following bus districts will take
home at that early time:  Abington (Who will also take home the Upper Dublin students), Centennial,
Cheltenham, Hatboro-Horsham, Lower Moreland, North Penn, Wissahickon, Yellowbird
Transportation and the New Hope Van.  All districts will bring in in the morning and there are no
late activities buses for this day.

The Bucks County Conservation District is offering a scholarship for high school students to attend the Penn State University Conservation Leadership School of Forest Resources.  This year it will focus on “Water and its value to all of us”.  You may go on a website and apply for this scholarship.  See your counselor for the website.

The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown is offering a scholarship to students who intend to make nursing their major in college.  You must live in Central Bucks County and be accepted into a Nursing school.  See your counselor for more information.

A reminder to all seniors that the BuxMont Chamber of Commerce scholarship application is now due. As of now, we have no turn-ins for this scholarship.  Could it be that no one is in need of money for college??  Again, the BuxMont Chamber of Commerce Scholarship application is now due.  This scholarship is for anyone living in Bucks or Montgomery Counties.
