Wednesday’s Announcements:

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

Attention All Juniors and Seniors:  Bucks County Community College will be having a Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, February 6 at 7pm in the Library Auditorium on their Newtown Campus.  An overview of Foundation Scholarships, financial aid programs, eligibility and deadlines will be discussed.   A question and answer period will follow.  All are invited.

From Guidance:  This summer, 10th and 11th grade students from across PA will have the opportunity to participate in the PA Free Enterprise Week.  Learn how to run your own business while experiencing college life.  Makes a great addition to any resume.  Meet and work with some of PA’s top executives, make new friends, and learn the value of teamwork.  Learn about career opportunities such as law, finance, engineering, manufacturing, advertising, environmental protection, computer technology, politics and more.  If you think this might be something for you, please sign up with your guidance counselor to attend an information session being held here at Wood on Thursday, January 31st, 3rd period.

A reminder to all seniors:  Please bring in all scholarships you have received even though you will not be attending that specific college.  The scholarship list will appear in the graduation program.  Again, do not discard any scholarship information that you might receive.  Bring it to your counselor.   Copies will be made and the original returned to you immediately.

Do you need any help with your school work?  The National Honor Society has started to tutor after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Room 119.  You must sign up for tutoring by 9AM on the day that you want to stay after for help.  The sign up book is on the desk in the Academic Office.  Once you sign up, please bring your work and report to room 119 by 2:25 on the day you are scheduled for help to meet up with the NHS tutors.

Applications for the Hirschmann and Louise Rose Scholarships are available in Mr. Dunn’s office- Room 237.

All students are eligible for the Alumni Classic Scholarships. Please see Mr. Dunn in Room 237 for applications.

If you are a senior living in Bensalem, you are eligible for the Mayor Digirolamo scholarship – pick up your application from your counselor.
