Wrestling results from PCL Sectional Tournament:  Freshman Jake Cooper and senior Cole Mars qualified for the District 12 championship to be held at LaSalle High School this Saturday, February 25, starting at 9:30 AM.  Cole finished fourth and Jake finished second in their weight classes.  Jake’s match went to four overtime periods and was the most exciting match of the championship round.

JV Mathletes:   The February meet will be Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 2:15 in room 125.

 It is not too early to sign up for overall captains for Black or Gold for Viking Night in April. Seniors may sign up for overall captain and underclassmen may sign up for class captain. Signups must be done in the activities office.

Are you a Bucks County resident interested in a career as a registered nurse?  The Certified School Nurses Association of Bucks County awards several scholarships on an annual basis to a senior nursing student who is planning to become a registered nurse.  Applications may be obtained in the guidance office or counseling center.  The deadline for the application is February 24, 2012.

SEPTA passes for Philadelphia residents are available in room 237. 

Applications are now available to all freshman, sophomores and juniors for the Second Generation, Hirschmann and Sharp scholarships. Pleas see Mr. Dunn in Room 237 for applications or any further information.

For the 11:00 Dismissal on Monday, February 13 – Sophomore Retreat Day – the following bus districts will take home at that early time:  Abington, Cheltenham, Lower Moreland, Upper Dublin, Wissahickon, Yellowbird Transportation and the New Hope Van.  All Districts will bring in in the morning and there are no late activities buses for this day.

A reminder for Juniors wishing to take the SAT on March 10

The regular deadline registration date for the March 10 SAT is February 10.  After February 10 a penalty fee will be charged.

Again, February 10 is the regular deadline registration date for March SAT’s.  After that date a late fee will be charged.

Attention Juniors:   Free, no-obligations, proctored ACT and SAT practice exams are open to current A+ students.  Again, free ACT and SAT practice exams are open to A+ students and members of the community.  The following dates are scheduled:

St Paul’s Church 120 N. Easton Rd., Glenside on Saturday, Feb 25^th,  8:45 to 1 pm.

Wrightstown Library, in Wrightstown on Sunday, Feb. 26th, 1pm to 5pm.

This is a great opportunity for students to take the ACT or SAT in a simulated test-center environment prior to sitting for the real thing. Students will receive a detailed score report which includes an analysis of their strengths and weaknesses on the exam.  These tests are offered by A+ on a no obligation basis. Space is limited. From Guidance:  If you would like to be considered for the “Discover Nursing Day” at Villanova University, please see your counselor.  Only 2 students from the junior class will be able to attend this program that is scheduled for March 30 at Villanova’s Driscoll Hall from 9 am to 3pm.  Again, 2 juniors will have an opportunity to have hands on experience in Villanova’s state of the art clinical simulation labs.  See your counselor for more information for “Discover Nursing Day”.

The PowderPuff Football Game will be February 10 immediately after school. Senior and Junior Girls may get a permission slip in the activities office. Permission Slips with the fee of $15 are due by January 19th.
