<p>Attention  HOSA members:  a meeting is planned for Wednesday, May 23,  in room 129 at  2:20  P.M.    All are welcome.  Agenda:  elections for 2012-2013 officers, welcome to freshmen and farewell to seniors.  Refreshments will be served.</p>
<p><strong>ATTENTION SENIORS:  </strong>On May 24th, Follett Bookstore will be here for the Buyback of your Religion Books.  If you rented a book, this is the day you must return your book.  Please check with your parents to verify if your book was rented or not.  All seniors are eligible to return their book and receive money for your book. The Buyback will be held in the Auditorium Lobby.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Rolph or Mrs. Harkins.</p>

<p><strong>ATTENTION SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS:  </strong>Summer vocabulary workbooks will be available for purchase starting on Monday, May 14th.  There is free shipping just for the week of May 14th.  These books can be purchased on the Follett Website, the same one that was used during the summer for your Fall workbooks.  There is a link on our website, <a href="http://www.archwood.org/" target="_blank">www.archwood.org</a>., on the opening page at the bottom left.  Please purchase these books this week to take advantage of the free shipping.  The books are $13.25 each. </p>
<p>Any student who would like to buy a ticket to the Memory Lane Concert on May19th @ 7:00 pm may do so in the Activities Office. Tickets are $20. The concert will include a premier 10 piece Motown and Oldies Band with an Elvis, Temptations and the Beatles and a guest appearance by John Conklin, the &#8220;Blue Eyed Soul&#8221;.  It’s an interactive show with a real dance contest.  So get your Philly Rock &amp; Soul ticket today!</p>

<p>The Bucks County Conservation District is offering a scholarship for high school students to attend the Penn State University Conservation Leadership School of Forest Resources.  This year it will focus on &#8220;Water and its value to all of us&#8221;.  You may go on a website and apply for this scholarship.  See your counselor for the website.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Seniors:</strong> Final Assessments for Seniors will take place between May 18 and May 24.  Please note the following:  In Class Assessments for electives on May 18 and May 21.  <strong>Full Days of</strong> <strong>class on these days.</strong> Tuesday May 22 and Thursday May 24 are special schedules with dismissal after period 2.  Wednesday, May 23 is a full day for seniors.  The ELA (English) Assessment must be taken online.  Seniors will take this assessment in their regularly scheduled ELA class. Tuesday, May 29 will be the make-up day for seniors who miss an assessment.</p>
<p><strong>Underclasses</strong>:  Final Assessments for freshmen, sophomores and juniors will begin on June 1 and conclude on June 8.  All ELA (English) and Math assessments must be completed online.  Students must know their login and password to access their assessment. Each day will be a full day.  A regular schedule will be run each day except on June 8.  On June 8 there will be a special assessment schedule followed by special activities.  More information to follow.  There will be bussing each day as dismissal will be at 2:15pm.  June 11 is the make up day for any absence during assessments.</p>
<p><strong>Final Grades</strong>:  The calculation of the final grades has been changed.  The final grade will consist of 45% or the first semester grade, 45% of the second semester grade and 10% of the final assessment.  Please take note of this fact and be sure all students take the final assessment seriously as a poor grade can have a negative impact on the final grade.  Final Assessments will cover the work of the entire year.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All wrestlers must bring in a note from their parents that they have permission to attend the Mr. Hill’s funeral and turn it in to the SSO.  The team will meet in the student center at end of second period on Wednesday May 16, and go over to Nativity and return to class sometime after 12 noon.  Wrestlers are asked to wear a shirt and tie and your school sweater to form an honor guard at the conclusion of the service like they did for Mr. Meister’s service.</p>
<p> There will be a robotics team meeting tonight from 6pm to 8pm to prepare for next week’s competition.  All team members must attend.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>May 16</strong>:  On Wednesday, May 16<sup>th</sup>, the Bucks County Commissioners will hold their monthly meeting in the Archbishop Wood Auditorium beginning at 10am.  The purpose of holding the Commissioners meeting at Wood is to honor our Championship Girls Basketball Team.  A presentation will be made to the Basketball Team at approximately 10:15am.  All are welcome for the presentation and for any or all of the Commissioners Meeting.  Please enter by the front Auditorium doors.</p>
<p><strong>May 17</strong>:  May 17 is Ascension Thursday, a Holy Day of Obligation, and <strong>a school day</strong> for the Archbishop Wood students.  This day is a makeup day due to the strike last fall.  Mass will be celebrated for the entire school at 8am in the Auditorium.  All are welcome.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>ATTENTION SENIORS:  </strong>On May 24th, Follett Bookstore will be here for the Buyback of your Religion Books.  If you rented a book, this is the day you must return your book.  Please check with your parents to verify if your book was rented or not.  All seniors are eligible to return their book and receive money for your book. The Buyback will be held in the Auditorium Lobby.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Rolph or Mrs. Harkins.</p>

<p><strong>ATTENTION SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS:  </strong>Summer vocabulary workbooks will be available for purchase starting on Monday, May 14th.  There is free shipping just for the week of May 14th.  These books can be purchased on the Follett Website, the  same one that was used during the summer for your Fall workbooks.  There is a link on our website, <a href="http://www.archwood.org/" target="_blank">www.archwood.org</a>., on the opening page at the bottom left.  Please purchase these books next week to take advantage of the free shipping.  The books are $13.25 each. </p>
<p>Any student who would like to buy a ticket to the Memory Lane Concert on May19th @ 7:00 pm may do so in the Activities Office. Tickets are $20. The concert will include a premier 10 piece Motown and Oldies Band with an Elvis, Temptations and the Beatles and a guest appearance by John Conklin, the &#8220;Blue Eyed Soul&#8221;.  It’s an interactive show with a real dance contest.  So get your Philly Rock &amp; Soul ticket today!</p>
<p>Attention: Freshmen, Sophomore, Juniors:  If you play piano and would like to audition for a piano scholarship, please see Sister Joanne in room 117.</p>
<p>There will be a driver education class starting June 18 through June 28. The times will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Applications can be picked up in the Business Office.  Information will be available in the Business Office.</p>
<p>Anyone who has signed up for Creative Writing and Illustration ONLINE please see Mrs. Tamburini in Rm 201 immediately after announcements.  If you have not signed up and you are looking for a one semester credit class to take online <strong><em>that is</em></strong> <strong><em>not during the school day</em></strong> please see Mrs. Tamburrni for details in Rm. 201 after announcements.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Attention Seniors:</span>  Please bring in all college scholarships you have received even though you <span style="text-decoration: underline;">will not</span> be attending that specific college.  The scholarship list will appear in the graduation program.  We are now in the process of collecting all this information and preparing it to be sent to the printer for the graduation booklet.  Again, do not discard any scholarship information that you might receive.  Bring it to your counselor and copies will be made and the original returned to you immediately.</p>
<p>The Bucks County Conservation District is offering a scholarship for high school students to attend the Penn State University Conservation Leadership School of Forest Resources.  This year it will focus on &#8220;Water and its value to all of us&#8221;.  You may go on a website and apply for this scholarship.  See your counselor for the website.</p>

<p>The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown is offering a scholarship to students who intend to make nursing their major in college.  You must live in Central Bucks County and be accepted into a Nursing school.  See your counselor for more information.</p>
