About

Founded in 1964, Archbishop Wood High School is a private, Catholic, college-preparatory high school located in Warminster, Pennsylvania, serving students in grades 9 through 12 within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The school was named in honor of Archbishop James Frederick Wood, the first Archbishop of Philadelphia, whose legacy of faith and leadership continues to inspire the school community today.
Situated on a 32-acre campus, Archbishop Wood provides a dynamic learning environment where academic excellence, spiritual growth, and personal development are central to the student experience. Since opening its doors, the school has built a strong tradition rooted in Catholic values and a commitment to preparing students to become responsible, faith-filled leaders in an ever-changing world.
Originally founded as separate schools for boys and girls, Archbishop Wood became a unified coeducational institution in 1990, strengthening its ability to serve families across Bucks County and surrounding communities. Today, the school continues to thrive as a vibrant Catholic community guided by dedicated faculty, staff, and administrators committed to forming students spiritually, academically, and socially.
Archbishop Wood offers a comprehensive college-preparatory curriculum, enhanced by spiritual formation, service opportunities, and a wide range of extracurricular programs. Students benefit from small class sizes, individualized attention, and a strong culture of achievement. The school maintains a student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 18:1, supporting meaningful connections between students and faculty.
Beyond the classroom, Archbishop Wood fosters leadership and teamwork through robust athletics and student activities. The school offers 26 athletic programs and numerous extracurricular opportunities that encourage students to explore their interests, develop their talents, and build lifelong friendships.
Faith remains at the heart of the Archbishop Wood experience. Through campus ministry, retreats, service initiatives, and daily opportunities for reflection and prayer, students are encouraged to grow as compassionate individuals who live out the values of the Gospel in their daily lives.
Today, Archbishop Wood continues to uphold its motto, “Faithfulness Merits the Crown,” as it prepares students not only for college, but for lives of purpose, service, and leadership
