For 35 years, the Archbishop Wood Alumni Golf Classic has been far more than a day on the course — it has been a tradition built on loyalty, generosity, and the unwavering spirit of the Viking community.

On a beautiful day this past May 8th, alumni, parents, friends, and supporters gathered once again to celebrate a milestone year: the 35th Anniversary of one of Archbishop Wood High School’s most cherished traditions. What began decades ago as a simple opportunity for alumni to reconnect has grown into a powerful expression of community support that continues to change lives through education.

Year after year, generations of Vikings have returned — not only for the camaraderie, competition, and memories shared on the fairways, but for something even greater: the opportunity to invest in future students. Through the generosity of our golfers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers, the Alumni Golf Classic has helped provide scholarships for current and incoming Archbishop Wood students, opening doors for young men and women to experience the transformative power of a Wood education.

This 35th Anniversary celebration honored both tradition and growth. Guests enjoyed everything they have come to love about the Golf Classic — a great day of golf with fellow alumni and friends, raffles, dinner, and a silent auction — while also experiencing exciting new on-course games, contests, and sponsorship opportunities that brought fresh energy to the day.

Most importantly, the event once again reflected what makes the Archbishop Wood community so special: people coming together with a shared purpose. Every foursome formed, every sponsorship secured, every raffle ticket purchased, and every conversation shared throughout the day became part of a larger story — a 35-year legacy of alumni giving back so future generations can thrive.

Because of this enduring support, more students will have the opportunity to walk the halls of Archbishop Wood, grow in faith and knowledge, and become tomorrow’s leaders.

Thirty-five years later, the mission remains the same: Vikings supporting Vikings. And thanks to this incredible community, that tradition continues stronger than ever.
