Guidance & Counseling

Archbishop Wood provides comprehensive college and career support beginning in freshman year. Students receive individualized counseling, academic planning, application support, and guidance through testing and financial aid processes. Programming includes college rep visits, grade-band workshops, and career exploration opportunities that help students prepare for a wide range of post-secondary paths including college, workforce, technical training, gap year, and military service.

Wood graduates pursue diverse pathways, including four-year colleges and universities, two-year institutions, employment, technical training, and military service. Students are accepted to a broad range of colleges and universities nationwide. Graduates also continue service in all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Student well-being is a priority at Archbishop Wood. The Counseling Center has created our "Den" that provides a supportive space for stress relief, mindfulness, and emotional regulation. Counseling staff offer wellness programming, small groups, and targeted support to help students build resilience, manage stress, and thrive academically and personally. Wellness programming also includes self-care days featuring yoga, breathwork, meditation, and affirmation stations designed to promote relaxation and emotional balance. Students also benefit from interactions with a therapy dog program, offering comfort, stress reduction, and positive emotional support throughout the school environment.
