Writing Help:

Writing assignment due before Christmas?  Up against a college application deadline?  Or maybe you're writing a letter to Santa. (Is that still a thing?)  Why not stop by the Learning Commons during your lunch period to get some help with your writing? Mr. Velten, a retired ELA teacher, will be in the Learning Commons today to give you the help you need. So bring that paper or essay in, and get some help to improve your sentences, make your thesis more clear, and brush up those spelling and punctuation problems!

Oh, and one more thing . . . Mr. Velten is also in the Learning Commons every day from 3 to 5 PM. So if you’re waiting for practice to start, or you’re killing time until the late bus comes, or if you just don’t want to go home right away, then stop by for some writing help. Once again, Tuesdays and Thursdays, periods 3 to 7, and every day from 3 to 5 PM, in the Learning Commons for some writing help.

Give Kids the World Service Trip

As most of you know, we are running a trip to central Florida for our long Memorial Day weekend. The trip will be 6 days and 5 nights. It will include approximately 15 hours of service at Give Kids the World and 2 hours at Clean the World. We will be staying at Disney World and enjoying the parks when not performing service. Additionally, there are leadership activities that will be included throughout the weekend. All of your expenses are included, except for airfare (to be determined once the travel group is finalized). The flyer below shows all of the details. It looks like we can go ahead and open up Triples and Quads as well. The price for the Triple is $1300, and the Quad is $1200. We also offer the opportunity to earn up to $600 in trip credit through fundraising.

We are down to our last 12 spots. Once we are full, I will not be able to add spots. Please reach out to Mr. Mingacci as soon as possible if you are considering going. We do need to put a deadline on registrations; those that have already registered are waiting patiently for us to book airfare. The last day to register for the 2020 trip is Wednesday, December 18.

And finally…

Why should you never trust a train? They have loco motives!
