Here’s some good news for Thursday morning!
You’re invited---yes, you---to participate in the 29th Annual Shakespeare Competition here at Wood.
Students who participate will recite from memory, a short, tiny, not-too-long, really very short, quite concise, passage of lines that you select from a Shakespeare play.
The student who wins the contest here at Wood gets to compete against winners from other schools in the Philadelphia area in another contest in February in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia-area winner this year will also win an all-expenses weekend in New York City to compete against winners from other cities for the grand prize, which is an all-expenses paid trip to England this coming summer to study acting.
So, if Shakespeare is your favorite writer, or if you’ve been waiting for a chance to demonstrate what a fantastic memory you have, or if you love to perform in front of others -- come to a short, tiny, not-too-long, really very short, quite concise, very brief interest and information meeting this Friday, during the B bell in the Learning Commons, and you’ll get More information about the contest and questions will be answered for free by highly trained experts. Once again, that meeting is Friday during the B bell in the Learning Commons -- or see Mrs. Blunt or Mr. Velten for more information if you can’t make the meeting.
And remember what Shakespeare wrote in Henry the 4th -- “Nothing can seem foul to those that win!”
The Science NHS will meet in room 231 during homeroom on Friday, Jan 7. All members must attend. Additionally, please get together a list of materials you'll need for the science fair, and bring the list on Friday to our meeting. If you cannot be at the meeting for some reason, please contact Mrs. Hartranft to let her know.
The next Driver's Ed course will begin on Monday, January 24, 2022 and run through February 23, 2022 if you are interested, please have them pick up a form in the Business office, Room 245 South Building. Once the form is completed please return to the Business Office with payment. If you have any questions, please reach out to American Driving School at 215-639-2390**
My balloon elephant wouldn’t fit on the back seat of the car. So I had to pop the trunk.
