Amparo Salas-Pomazunco, Ariana Aviles, Mackensie Ferguson, & Emmanuel Reed

In local news:

From the Academic Office

Congratulations to Reagan McGowan, Brigida Hobson, Nyriah McClendon, and Abby Carachilo for being chosen as Diocesan Scholars for the 2022-2023 school year!  We are so proud of you!

From the World Language department:

According to reports, many people find that learning sign language is very handy.

HOSA

There will be a HOSA meeting in Lab Room 322 after announcements in order to plan for our Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, April 11, 2022.

Sports news:

Cinderella was reportedly joining the softball team, but she was later cut from the team for running away from the ball.

HOSA Blood Drive:

Sign up to donate blood to the Red Cross on Monday, April 11, 2022. There is a critical need for blood and your donation can save a life. See Dr. Halloran in room 320 to get a spot. Make sure you have a good breakfast at home before giving blood and get a good night's sleep the night before donating.

From the Science department:

Scientists have recently discovered a new and simpler way to determine the gender of ants. You simply need to toss them in water, if it sinks: girl ant, if it floats: buoyant.

Volleyball Tournament

Please join us for the annual Vikingthon volleyball tournament! All proceeds will go to help fun pediatric cancer research. The tournament will be Tuesday April 12th from 6-10pm. Teams must have at least 6 members and only two Wood volleyball team players may be on a team. Teams are encouraged to have a name and a theme. The cost is $10 per player and registration forms are due to the Activities office by Wednesday April 6th.

Here are some food-related deep thoughts from the cafeteria:

  • When the clock is still hungry, it goes back four seconds.
  • If you think about it, onion rings are just vegetable doughnuts
  • Lobsters are mermaids from a scorpion’s point of view.
  • Lasagna is just spaghetti flavored cake
  • If tomatoes are a fruit, does that make ketchup a jam?
  • Cookie dough is the sushi of desserts

From the Activities Office:

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  Prom Permission Forms are due in the Activities Office this week. Please drop them off in Room 101. You will not be able to purchase tickets without the form on file. Tickets will officially go on sale on Monday, April 4th.

And finally we leave you with a quick thought:

“What if there were no hypothetical questions?”
