back and joining us we have a great episode today for you this time we actually took our new van wrapped and all on the road down to Archbishop Carroll we had number of different schools down at Carroll and guess what they brought with them for a competition they brought their mascots and we had a big mascot get together and then the ultimation of the get together was a race to see who was the fastest coolest best mascot so we went down there with the van you know Nick James who you met you know last time on the first podcast and Charlotte Dia is here as well we went down there we covered everything and we're going to bring you a video of all the cool stuff that you know we saw people we talked to and the events that were going on behind the scenes so good stuff to come on that but 1 of the things you probably noticed since our first podcast is if you look behind me we actually have arrived now we actually have our official Knock on Wood high caste backdrop that actually came a couple days ago and it looks pretty cool you know congratulations to uh to Izzy Diaz who basically took our ideas and how we wanted to create it and she went to work and created this beautiful backdrop up so I'm just going to step it has all the different activities and everything that that goes on it would you know surrounding in the circle behind the official Viking and are not going would you know podcast uh footage and Charlotte when you were down there you you actually ran into some quote unquote friends and family down there I don't know if you were expecting to run into them or not but but it was pretty cool seeing them so talk about you know who you saw what you you chatted up about and uh much fun it was so my cousin was actually there she goes to Elsie and I had no idea she was going to be there so it was really nice that I got to see her um I also met the Archbishop and he let us interview him for the podcast so that was also pretty cool that I'll be in the video later and during the whole thing we were kind of just like watching from the sidelines and narrating like the races for you guys and it was really interesting yeah now it was pretty neat you know seeing some faces that we knew and some faces that we didn't know because part of you know getting together with the other schools is to kind of share you know different things that we're doing have a lot of fun meet some new friends and have a nice day so Nick was there as well that day Nick was kind of the roving reporter you know behind the scenes kind of capturing all the footage and stuff so Nick why don't you talk to us about you know your approach when you got there some of the things that you're trying to scope out and film and uh some of the things that we'll see on the the footage in the that plays next so when we got to Carol it was very welcoming there are so many good people there and it was just a good time for all the schools in the arch diocese I saw all the mascots we got to interview a few people to see we got the interview the winner we don't save the winner is yet but you'll see who it is um we got to interview people that go to other schools and all all people like that but it was really cool going to it because it was my first time going to it and uh I sat we sat on the bleachers and we got to watch them uh race and I was doing play-by-play pretty much for every race and I enjoyed myself and it was we got some great coverage for the podcast yeah yeah so so good stuff to come on the video so right now we'll we'll cut to the video and then speed how do you think today is going to go I think today is I have a lot of confidence and uh Gavin Zack our secretary he's going to put that costume on he's going to be real fast you know I have a lot of faith uh I think it's going to be a lot no he's not going to fall this year be a lot different from last year I uh I think we're going to win it should be a big year student council right here yes we got Hi how are you I'm good how yeah I'm good what do you think of Archbishop Carroll and the mascot run today um it is really fun to be um at school here obviously it's just starting so you know we really are having a fun and this is going to be interesting I've never seen a mascot run before but I guess I'm rooting for the Patriot other than Karol what mascot do you think is going to win oh my word I don't know I have no idea I have even seen all the mascots so I guess we'll find out okay thank you yeah of course all right we're about to enter the gym um great music player sounds pretty hard I'm here with Trevor Hollick and I would like to ask each other who do you think is going to win the mascot race I think our Viking Archie is going to win the mascot Race by a lot I think we're smoking them hello we are at the mascot run pep rally and we are here with hello Natalie and they're from Elsie what are your predictions for today's mascot run um I think we'll win make sure we'll win our guys the fastest 100 time in the school I think so thanks how much is really great to be um all of you you know that in our archives over 43,000 for 43,000 in our I'm going to ask and also we're here there's another be a race our first race of the day it is about to be intense that is all I'm saying here we go we have so I'm Chef who do you think is going to win the mascot best this 1 I got thinks he's gonna win a lot of I'm here with Antonio papado do you think it's going to win this I got get but for right now I got the eagle all right here we go 3 more races left here we go here we go it is time for the mascot race it is time we're gonna crash it our sport yeah Archie would we believe in Archie do we believe in Archie would yes we do do we believe in Archie would Grant yes we do here we go it is time this is the moment we have all been waiting for ladies and gentlemen here we go all this time here we go it's looks like he's gonna win what is your favorite who is your favorite mascot other than of course Archie would man I gotta go with the Patriot from Carol I think he has a great look and almost on Elsie Crusader Eagle the Patriot I don't have to go with the West Catholic birth how do you feel uh it's really hot in the mascot costume but you know I ran as fast as I could but next year though there's always next year or not what's your name Daniel what's your name Delaney and you guys are from Ryan yes who actually want do we know Roman which is a little bit silly because he doesn't even have a costume talked to the person who they're here with and he was like oh it's broken right now we didn't know we needed it for this whatever we'll we'll ask we're here with our winner the catalog yep what is your name sir Ryan h m sounds good uh what did you think when you uh passed that finish line to win the uh mascot race the annual mascot race um I was kind of in shock I didn't I didn't know about this until like last week so um we don't have a mask also you know it's kind of unfair a little bit but I think if I had a mask on I still would have won wow he even politics yeah he even says it himself if it's not even do we can take the mask off and run in our uniforms we could thank you very much he also had no practice that's what let y'all know no practice came out of it no practice so end of the day I thought we raised well I mean there's better competition out there but I think first you would so there will be many uh we'll have much more years to practice and will be able to perfect our craft official mascot reveal the mascot is Nick James all right hi it's so nice to meet you oh it's great to be with you here today it's a great do you have anything to say about that contest we just had oh it was great everybody tied their best right it was wonderful care for you we love you and we need you God bless you well welcome back hopefully you enjoyed the the video footage we were able to put together on the the mascot competition day uh it was very exciting like I said to get there we took the the new van you know for a spin and showed up I thought you know we had the best van when we pulled in we had the competition and as you can tell you know there there's a little controversy as far as the the winner goes um we I felt we we ran a great race but you know we had some some folks from other schools that weren't basically into full mascot of Tyre and put us at a competitive disadvantage in my opinion I agree with that so I I don't know what you guys saw but yeah you'll you saw on the footage you know basically the race but um as they said in sports it's under review as far as who won it in our opinion to be determined but I was proud of us the school our new you know Viking mascot Archie would you know I thought he he did a it did a nice job first you know event and competition so so good stuff so that concludes the the end of podcast number 2 but before we go we have a little public service announcement on a really exciting event that's coming up here at the school so Charlotte's take you through that a little PSA from Miss lofty manyon is on March 13th and there's gonna be more fundraising events throughout the next few months keep an eye out but all of the funding goes towards PDF pediatric cancer and you can contact Miss Lefty for help and there's so many ways that you can get involved that's great yeah I mean many thin you know it's in the springtime but but no time like the present you know for for getting you know ramped up with it doing some fundraising and uh you know laying things out to have a great time at the event all right so that concludes podcast number 2 highest number 3 is right around the corner we are going to be interviewing a student um that was actually you know on the soccer field a few weeks back and something unforeseen happened to him so we kind of want to get you know his uh his view of that how he responded you know as a leader and some of the things he's doing to uh you know rehab and get himself back on to feel this quickly as possible so that'll be episode number 3 so episode number 2 knock on wood podcast or out
