Attention Student Council:
Please come to Room 202 during the B Bell on Friday, November 9th. All representatives are expected to attend! If there is a problem, please see Mrs. Kasperski as soon as possible.
It's not too late to register for the Drivers Education Class beginning on Monday, November 12th. There needs to be 15 students to have the class and we are short. Applications can be found on our website or in the Business Office, room 245. Please drop off completed applications to room 245 by Friday, November 9th.
Need help in ELA or with your writing for any of your subjects?
Good news: Mr. Velten, former English teacher here at Wood, will be here today to give you the help you need! Stop by the Learning Commons at your lunch period to get some writing or ELA assistance.
Bring that paper or essay in, and we’ll help you to improve your sentences, make your thesis more clear, and brush up those spelling and punctuation problems! Or maybe you’d like some help with that college essay.
Again, for help with ELA or writing in any of your subjects, stop by the Learning Commons today and see Mr. Velten. Come during your lunch period, and bring your lunch with you – Mr. Velten promises to not eat any of it, especially those tasty French fries! Yum!
The robotics team is collecting cardboard tubes from the center of toilet paper rolls and paper napkin rolls. Please bring any tubes in that you may have and drop them off in the student activities office.
Speech and Debate
There will be a MANDATORY meeting for all Speech and Debate team members today from 2:20-3pm in room 231. New members are always welcome!
Congratulations to Senator Chloe DiDonato for participating in her first-ever Congressional Debate at last night’s tournament at Central High School. Chloe is our school’s first - and only - female senator! Way to go Chloe! We are always looking for more congress women (or men) to join our team!
HOSA Blood Drive
There is a critical need for blood. The Red Cross will be getting blood donations next week. 18 and 17 year olds can give blood without parental permission. 16 year olds can give blood with parental permission. Sign up this week with Dr. Halloran in room 320..
Archbishop Wood scholarship opportunities
Wednesday, November 14th is the deadline for applications for The Diane Mosco Foundation Scholarship. This is a $2,000 grant for a female senior for the second semester of the 2018-2019 school year. Applications are available on the school website, click on the ""Alumni & Giving"" tab, then scroll to ""Alumni Scholarships."" If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Hale in Room 237.
Archbishop Wood Student Emergency Task Force. (SET)
Attention, there will be a SET meeting today at 2:20 in Mr. Mangin's office for members and also anyone interested in joining. This meeting is considered mandatory for prior members.
