President / Principal Welcome
President’s Welcome
Welcome to Archbishop Wood High School!
As the new President-and a proud member of the Class of 1982-it is my great honor to welcome you to a school that has shaped generations of leaders and continues to do so with unwavering purpose. Archbishop Wood is more than just a school; it is a vibrant Catholic community where students are invited to discover who they are, develop their God-given talents, and discern their purpose in life.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that leaders are made, not born. At Wood, every student is empowered to lead-in the classroom, on the field, in service to others, and in their faith journey. Grounded in our rich Catholic tradition, our school offers a dynamic academic experience that fosters intellectual curiosity, spiritual development, and personal growth. Here, adversity is not seen as failure but as an opportunity for learning, resilience, and discernment.
As President, I bring with me a deep personal commitment to our students, faculty, families, and alumni. My professional background as a CPA, former CFO of a Fortune 500 company, real estate entrepreneur, and educator allows me to lead with both strategic focus and heartfelt passion. But what truly drives me is not a resume-it's a calling. A calling to give back to the community that shaped me, and to ensure that Archbishop Wood is the top choice for families seeking a faith-filled, forward-looking, and student-centered high school.
We are building something extraordinary by expanding academic offerings like our Fundamentals of Real Estate course, launching innovative programs in leadership and entrepreneurship, and partnering with industry leaders to prepare students for a world that is rapidly evolving. Through bold vision and steadfast faith, we are forming the Leaders of Tomorrow.
I invite you to explore all that Archbishop Wood has to offer-and to be part of our mission, our momentum, and our future.
With gratitude ,
John S. Iannarelli

Message from the Principal
Dear Viking Families,
Welcome to Archbishop Wood High School! Here at Archbishop Wood we have a rigorous academic program that both challenges students and makes learning enjoyable for them. In Freshman year, students are given a roster which exposes them to many disciplines so that they can begin their path on discovering their interests. As students progress into Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years, they will have the opportunity to take part in our 15 Advanced Placement courses, our numerous electives, and they can even earn college credits through our Dual Enrollment Partnership. Our students also use their school provided Chromebook as part of our 1:1 Program as a way to enhance lessons, they have opportunities to visit our Science Labs on a regular basis, and they may even perform in our Little Theater to act out a scene in one of their Humanities classes. There is truly a class for everyone here at Archbishop Wood!
Our goal is to provide every Viking with the best high school experience not just academically, but also spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Our motto, “Faithfulness Merits the Crown” is both the foundation and heartbeat of our school. We recognize that each student brings their own God-given talents, abilities, and personalities to our community both in and out of the classroom. Our students are provided with opportunities to practice their faith, provide service to the surrounding community, and build relationships with the students of Our Lady of Confidence with whom we share a campus. Archbishop Wood offers a wide-range of extracurricular activities including Robotics, Performing Arts, and several Athletic teams. We are so proud of the many championships and performances that our extracurriculars bring to Archbishop Wood.
Our College and Career Counseling Center provides state of the art technology and in-person meeting space for College Representative visits, Instant Decision Days, and one-on-one sessions with three full time Academic Counselors. We also recognize the importance of mental health and emotional well-being, especially in the teenage years. We are fortunate to have a space dedicated to self-regulation, the Zen Den, that students are welcome to use whenever they need.
I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to serve as Principal of Archbishop Wood. Having served here as teacher, then Assistant Principal, and now Principal, I have been welcomed into Viking community from the very beginning and have made Archbishop Wood my home. I am committed to continuing on our journey of excellence and am excited to be working with you and your family.
Go Vikings!
Sincerely,
Dr. Katherine Nobles
